Starting a Homebased Business

First of all before you can become an entrepreneur, you have to have a
passion in having a business of your own and unless you are willing to
take risk and lose money, then you cannot consider yourself to be one.

Getting into business takes lot of homework. You have to do a lot of
reading, both magazines, books, ezines (online business newsletters)
and business courses. The best magazines to start with are
"Entrepreneur Magazine" and Income Opportunities" which can give you
an idea on the type of business you would like to run. You can find these
magazines on newsstands or bookstores such as Barnes and Noble.
Checking out the business section in bookstores is also helpful.
On-line providers have business sections which can be very helpful to
the beginner as well as those who are experienced.

Starting a homebased business has the advantage of little overhead,
since you do not have to worry about renting an office and the other
expenses that goes with it. In any business you have to have a product
or service that you believe in or your customer will not. If, you are looking
for a get rich quick schemes or listen to those info-commercials that
offer you the world with little or no work, then you are wasting your time
and money. The only people who make money from those are those selling.
Any business, no matter what it is, means "lots of hard work."

Getting a
business together is a constant learning process.

In starting a business, you should ask yourself the following questions:

Are you type that can work independently without having instructions?
Can you do many task?
Can you keep a schedule, working at home?

Where at work you have a variety of people doing many task; you will have
to do everything when you start in the beginning; sales, marketing, clerical,
bookkeeping, phones, mail, etc. You must be disciplined or you will not
accomplish anything. Knowledge of the computer is essential for word
processing, mailing list, e.g. form letters, databases and spreadsheets.
You will have to learn these functions in order to operate better. You
should also keep manual records in case something happens with your
computer, you still can operate until the computer is fixed. Backups
are also essential.

Having a support system also helps and you find these in the message
boards in the online services business section or business organizations
and most of all, you must have persistence and determination.
Best of luck!
